Job Description
Bindura University of Science Education is looking for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/ Professor: Natural Resources (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to provide academic leadership to the Department, initiate, guide and contribute to basic and applied research in the Department. Successful applicants must be able to supervise Research Projects for both undergraduate and postgraduate students in their fields of specialisation and conduct collaborative research and be involved in university service and community involvement
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should hold a PhD or be at an advanced stage towards the attainment of a PhD in Statistics, Ecology, Agriculture or related field. A Master of Science Degree in statistics or related field and a first degree in Applied Sciences with at least an upper-second class are a must. The candidates should be able to teach the following undergraduate courses; Statistics, Research Methods, Environmental modelling, and Spatial data analysis and at least two of these at postgraduate level. The successful candidate should have a strong background in data analysis with R and Python.
Applicants must have a minimum of two years of tertiary teaching experience. Proven record of publications and ability to mobilise funds will be added advantages. The curriculum vitae (CV) should contain a detailed list of publications; clearly specifying titles of publications, journal names, volumes, page numbers details, dates published into; books, monographs, refereed and non-refereed journals, chapters in books etc.
