Laboratory Technician wanted
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties
Assisting academic staff and students in preparing equipment and setup of the laboratory to ensure practical lessons and research activities run smoothly, and in compliance with relevant regulations
Supervision of student Practical work
Organizing and accompanying students on educational trips
Dispensing reagents, chemicals and equipment
Procuring of laboratory requirements
Maintaining of laboratory equipment, reagents and chemicals through basic care, and storage
Maintaining equipment and chemical inventory through performing regular minor service, calibration checks and stock take management.
Maintain a safe working environment in the laboratory and preparation room areas, and providing safety awareness to students
Community service
Performing any other duties as assigned by the Chairperson
Qualifications and Experience
Person Specification
Applicants should possess at least five (5) O’ level passes including English Language and Mathematics and a relevant Higher or National Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent. Applicants should have at least two (2) years post qualification experience
