Main Purpose of Job

Supports Engagement Manager/Senior Manager/Associate Director/Director in delivery of services to / at client premises on delegated engagement / project. Focus on the delivery of client engagements and shares knowledge and experience with others. Understands objectives for clients and aligns own work to objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Description
The role is responsible for the preparation of samples and performance of analyses according to approved procedures.

• Enforcing shop floor Compliance to Laboratory requirements
• Preparation and analyses of samples
• Operation of Analytical Instruments
• Participating in trouble shooting, corrective and preventive initiatives
• Calibration of volumetric glassware and operation of laboratory instruments
• Handling of gas cylinders and operational maintenance of analytical instruments
• Compliance to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality(SHEQ) principles and procedures

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications
• Diploma in Metallurgical Assaying or Equivalent.
• At least 3 years post qualification experience.
• Knowledge of SOPs of laboratory Instruments
• Computer literacy.
• Understanding of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality(SHEQ) management, quality control and assurance systems in use (including ISO 17025standard,polocies and procedures).
• English proficiency.
• Experience within a PGM smelter an added advantage.
