Laboratory Technician (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
The main duties of a Laboratory Technician include:
Organizing and supervising practical activities for Graduate and Undergraduate students;
Operating and maintaining a variety of equipment and instruments;
Maintaining inventories of equipment and consumables;
Ordering, receiving, storing and cataloguing equipment and consumables;
Assisting students to conduct practical activities for research projects;
Assigning duties to Technical Assistants; and
Performing any other duties assigned by the Chief Laboratory Technician or Chairperson of Department.
NB: Female candidates are encouraged to apply. Police clearance is mandatory for successful candidates.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of a National Diploma in Science Technology or equivalent qualification from a reputable institution;
A Higher National Diploma or Degree would be added advantages;
Applicants must have five (5) Ordinary Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Science;
A minimum of one (1) year experience working in a laboratory is required;
Preference would be given to those with experience working at tertiary education institutions.
