Job Description
We are looking for a qualified and motivated Laboratory Scientist to support the clinical and operational functions of our diagnostic laboratory. The successful candidate will ensure accurate laboratory testing, maintain quality standards, and assist the administration team in strengthening client relationships and supporting initiatives aimed at increasing laboratory revenue.
Duties and Responsibilities
●Perform and supervise routine and specialized laboratory tests.
●Operate, maintain, and ensure proper calibration of laboratory equipment and analyzers.
●Conduct and monitor daily quality control procedures.
●Review, verify, and validate laboratory results before release.
●Maintain accurate laboratory records, logs, and documentation.
●Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
●Monitor reagent and consumable stock levels and assist with procurement planning.
●Assist in implementing and maintaining laboratory quality assurance systems.
●Provide guidance and support to laboratory staff when required.
●Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of laboratory samples and materials.
●Participate in laboratory audits and inspections when required.
●Support the administration team in building relationships with doctors, clinics, and other stakeholders to help grow laboratory services.
Qualifications and Experience
●Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent.
●Registration with the relevant professional council (where applicable).
●At least 2 years’ experience in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory.
●Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment, testing procedures, and quality control.
●Good communication and interpersonal skills.
●Ability to work independently and maintain high standards of accuracy.
