The University seeks to engage Kitchen Porter in the Student Affairs Division

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, trays, and kitchen utensils in accordance with hygiene standards
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, work surfaces, floors, storage areas, and waste disposal areas
Assist with basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and other ingredients
Receive, inspect, and store food deliveries and kitchen supplies, ensuring stock is handled safely and correctly
Remove rubbish and recycling materials, ensuring waste is disposed of in line with health and safety procedures
Keep kitchens, storerooms, and service areas clean, tidy, and well organized at all times
Replenish cleaning materials, kitchen supplies, and equipment as required
Support cooks and chefs with routine kitchen duties during busy service periods
Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety policies and procedures
Report damaged equipment, maintenance issues, or potential health and safety hazards promptly to supervisors
Assist with the setup, service, and clean-up of catering for events, conferences, and other functions
Work collaboratively as part of the catering team to ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality food service

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience

Five (5) Ordinary Level Passes including English Language
Six months’ relevant experience will be a distinct advantage
