Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and responsible Senior Accountant with strong expertise in accounting, taxation, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate must be able to independently prepare full sets of financial statements, oversee tax compliance, and ensure operational excellence within the division.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
-Manage and deliver accurate accounting services, including preparation of full sets of accounts up to finalization.
-Handle all tax matters, including computations, submissions, compliance, and advisory for both corporate and individual clients.
-Ensure timely preparation and submission of all statutory returns (ZIMRA, NSSA, PRAZ, etc.).
-Maintain strong internal financial controls, ensuring best practices are followed in all accounting processes.
-Support and mentor junior accountants to ensure high-quality service delivery.
-Maintain client relationships, ensuring that accounting and taxation services exceed expectations.
-Monitor and drive operational KPIs related to accounting and taxation deliverables.
-Provide regular reports on financial and operational performance to senior management.
-Uphold discipline, professionalism, and service standards within the division.
-Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in accounting and taxation services.
Qualifications and Experience
Key Requirements
-Professional qualification preferred (e.g., CIS, ACCA, CIMA, CA, or equivalent).
-Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting and taxation.
-Proven ability to prepare financial statements up to final accounts independently.
-Solid understanding of Zimbabwean tax laws, statutory requirements, and IFRS standards.
-Previous experience supervising junior staff in a professional services or accounting environment is an advantage.
-High level of responsibility, self-management, and organizational skills.
-Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
-High integrity, maturity, and business judgment.
Preferred Attributes
-Consultancy or multi-client accounting environment experience.
-Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Pastel, QuickBooks, Xero, Odoo).
-Proactive, dependable, and solution-oriented.
