Job Description

The IT Support Specialist is a point of contact for users when there is a service disruption, for service requests or even for some categories of request for change. The IT Support maintains all computer networks ,providing technical support ensuring the whole company runs smoothly. The IT Support monitors and maintains company computer system, installs and configures hardware, software and solves technical issues as they arise.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks.
• Providing technical support across the company (this may be over the phone or in person).
• Providing first-line investigation and diagnosis.
• Logging all relevant incident/service request details, allocating categorization and prioritization codes
• Resolving incidents/service requests when first contacted whenever possible.
• Escalating incidents/service requests that they cannot resolve within agreed timescales.
• Keeping users informed of progress.
• Closing all resolved incidents, requests and other calls.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis to determine and resolve the underlying causes of incidents.
• Proactive activities to detect and prevent future problems/incidents.
• Training staff and clients on systems developed

Qualifications and Experience

• Interpersonal skills, such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and customer care training.
• Business awareness: specific knowledge of the organization’s business areas, drivers, structure, priorities etc.
• Ability to stick to strict deadlines
• A keen eye for detail
• Technical awareness (and deeper technical training).
• Minimum Computer Science Degree or any other related field
