INVITATION TO TENDER
Supply and Delivery of Extrusion Plastic Welding Machine and Accessories
World Vision Zimbabwe, in collaboration with UNHCR, invites reputable and qualified suppliers to
submit bids for the supply and delivery of an Extrusion Plastic Welding Machine (preferably
Stargun SOLO 30 or equivalent) and related accessories for pipeline rehabilitation works at
Tongogara Refugee Settlement.

Scope of Supply
 Extrusion Plastic Welding Machine suitable for HDPE pipes (up to 630mm diameter)
 Accessories including welding shoes, angle head, HDPE welding rods, grinders, generator
(5.5–6.5kVA), couplings/clamps, air testing kit, and safety gear
 On-site training for 10 technical staff (minimum 7 days)
 Warranty and after-sales support
Key Specifications
 Adjustable temperature control (up to 300°C)
 Minimum extrusion output: 3 kg/hour
 Power supply: 220–240V (generator compatible)
 Ergonomic design for field use
Delivery Timeline
 Equipment delivery: Within 4 weeks of contract signing
 Training: February–March 2026

Terms of Reference (TOR) for Procurement of Welding Machine and
Accessories
Title: Procurement of Extrusion Plastic Welding Machine and Accessories for Pipeline
Rehabilitation at Tongogara Refugee Settlement
Background:
World Vision Zimbabwe, in collaboration with UNHCR and government departments, is
undertaking pipeline rehabilitation works at Tongogara Refugee Settlement. To ensure durable
repairs, an extrusion plastic welding machine and related accessories are required. The supplier
will also provide on-site training for technical staff after the current crop harvest.
Objectives:
 Procure a high-quality extrusion plastic welding machine suitable for HDPE pipeline
repairs.
 Ensure delivery of all necessary accessories for welding operations.
 Facilitate on-site training for at least 10 technical staff on proper welding techniques.
Scope of Work:
The supplier will:
1. Provide the welding machine and accessories as per specifications.
2. Deliver the equipment to Tongogara Refugee Settlement, Zimbabwe.
3. Conduct on-site training for technical staff (minimum 7 days).
4. Provide a warranty and after-sales support for the machine.
Deliverables:
 Welding machine and accessories delivered in good condition.
 Training report and certification for trained staff.
 Warranty documentation.
Timeline:
 Delivery of equipment: Within 4 weeks of contract signing.
 Training: Scheduled after crop harvest (tentatively February–March 2026).
Evaluation Criteria:
 Compliance with technical specifications.
 Supplier experience and capacity to provide training.
 Cost competitiveness and warranty terms.

Machine Type:
 Extrusion Plastic Welding Machine (recommended models: Stargun SOLO 30 or
equivalent).
Specifications:
 Suitable for HDPE pipes (630mm diameter).
 Adjustable temperature control (up to 300°C).
 Output: Minimum 3 kg/hour extrusion capacity.
 Power supply: Compatible with generator (220–240V).
 Ergonomic design for field use.
Accessories Required:
 Welding shoe conical complete with holder * 2
 Welding shoe neutral complete with holder * 2
 900 angle head (welding shoe support)
 650kg plastic welding rods (HDPE compatible).
 5kg*4mm welding coil for 600mm weholite HDPE pipes
 Grinders for pipe preparation.
 Generator (5.5kVA-6.5kVA) for powering the machine.
 663-665mm weholite HDPE pipe couplings/clamps
 Air testing kit for leak detection.
 Safety gear (gloves, goggles, aprons).
Training Requirements:
 On-site practical training for 10 technical staff.
 Duration: Minimum 7 days.
 Certification upon completion
