About CNFA and Farmer to Farmer Southern Africa Program

Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA) is a US-based non-profit nongovernmental organization (NGO) that works to stimulate economic growth and improve rural livelihoods in the developing world through five core capabilities: (1) Productivity, Food Security and Nutrition; (2) Input Supply and Farm Services; (3) Economic Resilience and Rapid Recovery; (4) Value Chain Development; and (5) Volunteer Technical Assistance.

The USAID funded Farmer-to-Farmer (F2F) Program (2023-2028) is implemented by CNFA in Southern Africa (Madagascar, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe). The program aims to connect volunteer experts with farmer groups, agribusinesses, trade associations, agricultural finance providers and other agriculture sector institutions to facilitate sustainable improvements in food security and agricultural processing, production, and marketing.

Position Summary
The Farmer-to-Farmer (F2F) program in Zimbabwe is seeking interpreters to assist US volunteers who train farmers. These interpreters will facilitate communication for F2F volunteers during trainings, which typically last about two to three weeks. We are requesting CVs from qualified individuals living in the following provinces and specified districts:
1. Manicaland Province - Chimanimani, Chipinge, and Makoni districts
2. Masvingo Province - Chiredzi, Chivi, Bikita, Mwenezi and Zaka districts
3. Matabeleland North - Lupane, Hwange, and Tsholotsho districts
with a preference for those based in rural areas.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications include:
• A Diploma, preferably in an agriculture-related field such as Agriculture, Agronomy, Animal science, Horticulture and Aquaculture.
• Good written and oral skills in English and in the local language and dialect that used by the participants.
• Ability to translate technical content from English into the local language/dialect and vice-versa.
• Good command of Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel)
• Excellent organizational skills
• Exceptionally good people skills and teamwork.
• Pro-activity and flexibility
