Job Description
We are seeking a motivated third‑year student eager to gain practical Audit experience in a driven public sector organisation. As an Audit Intern, you will provide administrative and technical support to the NBA internal audit department by assisting with audit assignments, reviewing financial and operational records, documenting findings and helping ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. This is a hands‑on learning role and interested candidates are encouraged to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist in planning and preparing audit assignments.
• Collect and review financial and operational documents.
• Perform audit testing under the supervision of the internal auditor.
• Verify supporting documentation for transactions and balances.
• Assist with physical verification of assets and inventory.
• Document audit procedures, working papers, and evidence.
• Identify exceptions, control weaknesses, and potential risks.
• Assist in following up on implementation of audit recommendations.
• Participate in both entrance and exit interviews with management and staff during audits.
• Help prepare draft audit reports and presentations.
• Maintain confidentiality of audit information and records.
• Perform any other cognate duties assigned by the Internal Auditor.
Qualifications and Experience
The incumbent must be in their third year and studying towards a degree in Audit and Risk Management, Accounting, Financial Intelligence or a similar degree.
The incumbent must also be:
• A fast learner who has the passion to grasp concepts.
• Highly innovative and agile.
• Excellent at paying attention to detail.
