Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of Intensive Care Nurse that has arisen in Nectacare Private Limited in Zvishavane.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Sister in Charge the key duties and responsibilities of the job are:
• Observing patients closely, noting specific procedures and prescribed medication for each case.
• Assessing patients' pain levels and sedation requirements
• Monitoring vital signs and ensuring the proper functioning of feeding tubes, ventilators, catheters and other life support equipment
• Attending to the patient’s overall needs, such as feeding, bathing and grooming, dressing, medication intake, and comfort.
• Providing support and education to the patient’s family, answering questions and giving vital instructions on how to care for the patient.
Qualifications and Experience
• Diploma in General Nursing
• Intensive Care Nursing Diploma
• Counseling certificate or diploma will be an added advantage
• Valid Practicing Certificate from the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe
• 3 years post qualification experience in nursing with intensive care nursing exposure.
• Good communication and customer care skills
• Excellent supervisory skills
• Good problem solving and decision making skills
• The ability to work under pressure with little or no supervision in emergency situations
• Commitment to handling private and confidential information with a high degree of professionalism
