Conducting off-site and on-site supervision of pension funds, administrators and insurance industry licensees to ensure their soundness on a continuous basis;
Carrying out off-site, on-site surveillance to assess the soundness of risk management systems in regulated entities to ascertain the safely and soundness of the same with a view to implementing appropriate supervisory action in line with IPEC prudential standards;, market conduct and AML/CFT requirements:
Monitoring and enforcing compliance with relevant laws, regulations, guidelines and directives
by regulated entities, and observance of international best practice;
Conducting market research and any other activities in terms of the Insurance Act and the
Pension and Provident Funds Act including scanning environmental, regional and international developments aimed at enhancing the insurance and pension industry os well os protecting the
interests of policyholders and pension fund members and beneficiaries to maintain financial stability:
Evaluating applications for prescribed asset status and recommending course of action to management;
Recommending to management measures to enhance the regulation and supervision of players in the insurance and pensions industry to ensure customers are
treated fairly on an ongoing basis and monitoring adherence to the same requirements
The ideal candidates should have the following qualifications and experience :
A degree in Insurance, Pensions. Risk
Management, Financial Engineering, Regulations and Compliance, Actuarial Science, Economics,
Mathematics, Statistics, Accountancy or related
disciplines from a reputable university.
A relevant professional qualification in pension or insurance is an added advantage.
At least two years relevant experience.
Work experience in pensions or insurance industry, financial/investment analysis and regulation will be an added advantage
