Position: Information Communication Technology Specialist
Base Station Harare
POSITION SUMMARY
The ICT Specialist will oversee the organization's ICT systems and infrastructure to ensure
efficient operations and alignment with organizational goals. This role includes maintaining shared resources, ensuring data security, and supporting organizational operations through ICT solutions. Key responsibilities involve implementing ICT strategies, managing hardware and software resources, and supporting staff to utilize technology effectively.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. ICT Operations
• Manage and maintain IT shared resources, ensuring optimal performance and
reliability.
• Monitor system performance, perform regular updates, and troubleshoot
issues in a timely manner.
• Provide technical support to staff, resolving hardware and software issues
effectively and efficiently.
• Administer user accounts, access rights, and permissions to ensure secure and
appropriate access to systems.

2. Safety and Security Management
• Lead Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect
organizational assets and information.
• Conduct regular security assessments and risk analyses to identify
vulnerabilities and recommend necessary improvements.
• Monitor security incidents and respond to threats, ensuring proper
documentation and follow-up on incidents.
• Organize training sessions for staff to enhance security awareness and
preparedness.
3. System and Network Administration
• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT and telecom
systems, ensuring they meet operational needs.
• Manage IT inventory, including hardware and software, ensuring that all assets
are tracked and maintained.
• Develop and maintain documentation for IT systems, processes, and
procedures to ensure compliance and facilitate knowledge sharing
4. Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery:
• Assist in the development and implementation of business continuity and
disaster recovery plans, ensuring data integrity and availability.
• Conduct regular drills and tests of disaster recovery plans to ensure readiness
in case of emergencies.
5. Vendor Management
• Lead the selection, negotiation, acquisition, and monitoring of IT hardware,
software, and service contracts, including ISPs, for the country office.
• Oversee ICT vendor performance, address service issues, and escalate as
needed to ensure optimal service delivery and support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science,
or a related field.
• Experience/Technical Skills: 5+ years of experience in IT operations, with a strong
foundation in network and system administration.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified
Network Associate (CCNA), or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are desirable.
• Skills:
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information
to non-technical staff.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Office 365 and cloud-based services is a plus
