Duration: 3 months starting immediately

Summary
This is a 3-month internship which starts immediately. The incumbent will be responsible for providing IT support. This role requires a dedicated and detail-oriented person who is capable of multitasking. This individual should be a team-player who is willing to learn. They will assist with desktop support, troubleshooting desktop hardware / software problems, and support project activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Make data easily accessible to those who need it; Connect devices to the network and ensure they function properly and securely; Ensure a secure transfer of data over internal and external networks; Back up network data; Evaluate and optimize network performance; Document network support activities; Provide end-user support; Perform routine PC maintenance and updates for performance efficiency; Assist in database management; Provide technical assistance to office staff as needed; Assist in software and hardware upgrades; Add or update workstations for office staff; Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should be a recent graduate in Computer Science or Information Technology.

Knowledge, skills and abilities
Ability to troubleshoot common hardware / software issues; Ability to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities; Ability to follow instructions and work under minimum supervision; Ability to quickly gain new skills and knowledge when faced with new challenges; Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows 7 and Windows 10, KoBo; Ability to uphold confidentiality requirements in an organisation; Attention to detail; Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good research skills.
