The ICT Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for the stability, security, and performance of the organization's core ICT infrastructure. This includes managing servers, networking equipment, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud services across Sites. The role ensures reliable connectivity, supports enterprise systems, and enforces cybersecurity best practices. Reporting to the ICT Officer, the specialist will also contribute to system upgrades, documentation, and long-term infrastructure planning to support business continuity and growth.
1. Server Infrastructure Management
Administer Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file and print services.
Manage virtual infrastructure (Hyper-V and VMware), ensuring high availability, backups, and resource optimisation.
Perform system updates, patching, and server health monitoring using tools like Zabbix or PRTG.
2. Network Administration
Maintain LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi infrastructure across Sites.
Troubleshoot routing, switching, and access point issues.
Implement and enforce network segmentation and access control policies.
3. Firewall, VPN & Security Management
Configure and manage firewalls, including NAT, web filtering, and application control policies.
Set up and maintain VPN tunnels for secure inter-branch communication.
Enforce network security policies, intrusion prevention, and log monitoring.
4. Enterprise Platform Support
Provide support for integrated platforms.
Collaborate with third-party vendors on system integration, upgrades, and performance tuning.
Oversee the setup and connectivity of services hosted on local and cloud-based virtual machines.
5. Disaster Recovery & Backup
Design and maintain backup strategies using on-prem and cloud solutions.
Conduct periodic DR simulations to test failover and recovery procedures.
Ensure business continuity for critical systems through redundancy and preventive maintenance.
6. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain detailed documentation of network diagrams, system configurations, and standard operating procedures.
Ensure all infrastructure is compliant with internal ICT policies and security frameworks.
Support internal ICT audits and contribute to policy development.
7. Project Implementation & Continuous Improvement
Lead and support infrastructure expansion, optimization, and automation projects.
Conduct research on emerging technologies to propose cost-effective infrastructure improvements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
3–5 years’ experience in enterprise infrastructure and systems administration.
Strong hands-on knowledge of SAP, Windows Server, Firewalls, VPN technologies, and virtualization.
Certifications such as Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or Sophos Certified Engineer are highly desirable.
