CARE began working in Zimbabwe in 1992 in response to severe regional drought and has since expanded programming to address longer-term development issues. Currently, an estimated 5.8 million people are facing severe food insecurity in Zimbabwe as a result of the human-made climate crisis.

Through strategic local partnerships, CARE is implementing both short-term and long-term programming to empower Zimbabwe’s vulnerable households to meet their basic needs through sustainable livelihoods. To that end, CARE’s programming in Zimbabwe is focused on the following areas: food and nutrition security, climate resilient livelihoods, economic development, education, and water, sanitation, and hygiene

Job Description
The incumbent will be responsible for providing human resources services and support to the country office, coordinating, implementing and monitoring the Human Resources Management functions in line with Care International in Zimbabwe standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key duties and Responsibilities

• Manages the collation of payroll information and assist with all salary queries from staff and partners
• Facilitates submission of information needed for international staff work permits and visas with immigration office and follows up on the applications
• Prepares staff contracts and submits to HR Manager
• Reconciles leave plans for country office and gives feedback to line management quarterly
• Inputs new employee details into Belina Payroll System
• Coordinates the submission of staff contribution to statutory bodies on such funds as NEC, NSSA, Pension and PAYE;
• Reconciles medical aid information in liaison with service providers and submits to Finance Department for payment of monthly subscriptions
• Provides feedback to management and staff on occupational Health & Safety issues in the workplace
• Facilitates the election of workers’ committee and provides HR advice to committee as relevant
• Participates in disciplinary hearings together with the Disciplinary Committee in line with HR policy and national regulations (such as the NEC Code Conduct, National employment code of conduct)
• Promotes and maintain an organizational culture that advances gender equality, reduces power abuse and inequalities, and fosters trust and safety.
• Coordinates the first day HR induction for all new joiners, transfers, maternity/paternity returners, etc. ensuring they receive the appropriate level of induction and induction packs.
• With the support from the HR Manager coordinates the performance management and appraisal calendar.
• Assists the program and program support managers in co-ordinating staff training and development needs assessments.
• Tracks probationary and performance reviews for staff and support on any necessary action arising from performance or conduct issues and finding appropriate solutions

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications
• First Degree in Human Resources, Administration, Psychology or equivalent. Post graduate qualification desirable.
• 3-5 years working experience in human Resources Management preferably in international NGO
• Knowledge and experience of working on MS Office effectively
• Flair in communication and influencing stakeholders (written and oral)
• Knowledge and experience of working on MS Office effectively
