A strategic managerial vacancy has arisen within the National Pharmaceutical Company (NatPharm), a Government-owned entity that procures, warehouses and distributes medicines and medical supplies to health institutions nationwide. HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
DUTY STATION: HARARE
The Human Resources Manager reports to the Managing Director and will be responsible for the following among other duties:
Participate in corporate strategy planning and implementation
Identify, design, and implement strategic HR projects, as and when appropriate
Prepare and present periodic Human Resources Board Reports to the Human Resources Committee
Oversee and coordinate all recruitment, selection, and placement of employees from Senior Management and below
Prepare the organization’s Induction Programmes and ensures all new recruits go through it to ensure they understand business ethos
Prepare annual staff learning and development plans in consultation with Line Managers, and make recommendations to the Managing Director on most effective interventions to support the organization’s people management strategies
Facilitate the design and implementation of reward systems that maximize staff retention and contribution
Oversee and manage the organization’s salaries administration and payroll system
Manage investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters as they arise
Provide advice and guidance on individual employee relations cases, ensuring that these are well managed and meet the requirements of the organization’s policies, best practice, and employment legislation
Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures and systems to ensure effective, fair and consistent management of staff throughout the organization and ensures that the HR Policy Manual and Employee Handbook are comprehensive and up to date.
Ensure that Management and Staff are aware of the policies and procedures and able to operate them effectively
Monitor and review the application of the Performance Management System and its effective use, analyse Performance Appraisals, and generate performance statistics for Management use
Produce various regular HR reports and statistics for Management and organization use
Responsible for all aspects of the organization’s Pension Fund issues
Monitor HR trends throughout the organization and provides management information on Key Performance Indicators to the Managing Director as appropriate
Qualifications and Key Competencies
The successful candidate should be in possession of the following:
Post Graduate degree such as MSc/ MBA/ MBL and any other relevant Master’s degree from recognized institution of higher learning is a must.
First degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology or Sociology is a must.
Professional qualification such as IPMZ Diploma is a requirement.
Qualification in Payroll Administration is a must.
Diploma in Labour Law is an added advantage.
5 years working experience, 3 years of which must be at Managerial Level
Strong human capital management skills
Good analytical and strategic thinking.
Expertise in labour law and payroll administration
Good understanding of corporate governance and compliance requirements.
Highly organized and results-oriented.
Knowledge of employment laws and relevant statutes.
Membership of a recognized professional body such as IPMZ.
