Job Description

Zimbabwe Network of Early Childhood Development Actors (ZINECDA) in partnership with the National ECD Coalition of Lesotho (NECDOL) and the Malawi ECD Coalition are implementing a transnational project on strengthening the capacity of ECD coalitions for improved ECDE legislation, policies and measures in Southern Africa (TRANAC). TRANAC is part of the education wide development in the Horn, East and Southern Africa (HESA) which incorporates the operational components (OC) 1, 2 and 3 grantees and partners funded by GPE through Oxfam IBIS as the Grant Agent. The ZINECDA Alliance and HESA together with Uganda RMU established a learning hub on education. In addition to the hub, ZINECDA has financial, project management and MEAL systems that need maintenance, updating, upgrading and being used by partners to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of TRANAC and HESA.
These projects need to be managed and maintained through the lead agency ZINECDA, who are seeking the services of a Systems Administrator who will perform the following responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

• Be in charge of the Hub, MEAL and project management systems back and frontend system
• Document library services for the hub
• Classify content to themes of the hub
• Market the hub for effective utilisation
• Train others in use of the hub, project and MEAL systems
• Support the ZINECDA team in maintaining hardware, software, and other systems
• Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support
• Organize and maintain IT resources
• Implement approved disaster preparedness policy
• Lend IT support in areas such as cybersecurity, programming, analytics, and data centre management
• Write and communicate technical requirements for new and ongoing project
• Assist in creating data entry, analysis and reporting of research

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience
• Library and documentation services, Computer Science, Information Technology, and or Management Information Systems or equivalent
• Familiarization with Frontend web programming languages and skills such as JavaScript, Bootstrap, jQuery, AngularJS, Ajax and web animation techniques is a clear advantage
• Demonstrable knowledge and work experience in web designing
• Knowledge of backend web programming language such as Java, .NET, Python, Ruby, PHP and JavaScript is a distinct advantage.
• Knowledge of industry-standard design tools e.g. Adobe creative suite
• Familiarization with Linux, Apache, MySQL/PostgreSQL and PHP/Perl/Python (LAMP)
environment is a distinct advantage
• Familiarization with Content Management System such as WordPress, Joomla, Dspace is a distinct advantage
• Familiarise with managing social media handles, website and blog
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Familiar with and have knowledge in graphic designing
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well in teams
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
