Type of contract: Fixed term duration, with a three-month probation period
Immediate Supervisor: Nursing and Environmental Health Managers

Objective of the Post:
Carry out health promotion activities based on MSF frameworks and strategies for the Gwanda Small-scale Artisanal Mining
Community Basic Health Care project. Support medical and environmental health activities and services for patients and
communities.
Job Requirements:
• Travel to mining and hotspot communities around Gwanda District
• Mobilise communities to attend outreach clinics
• Facilitate linkages to care
• Collaborate with Village Health Workers on surveillance, case management, community sensitisation, and tracing
• Conduct patient and community feedback assessments and report on findings
• Implement activities for health education, awareness, assess and report on the impact of activities
• Contribute to activities to facilitate psychosocial support activities
• Identify and build capacity for peer education and support
• Participate in surveys, operational research or assessment and emergencies when required
• Participate in any health promotion campaigns or community mobilisation activities with MoHCC and other
partners
Educational and Professional Background:
• Degree/Diploma in Health Promotion, Psychology, Environmental Health, Social Work, Sociology, Education or
equivalent
• At least two years’ work experience in health promotion, community advocacy, community mobilisation or
capacity building in a medical humanitarian environment
• Comprehensive understanding of mining, commercial sex work, substance use, youth, and environmental health is
an advantage
• Good negotiation, communication, teamwork, interpersonal & management skills
• Motivation to work in an international/inter-cultural context with a humanitarian team spirit
• Computer literate with experience of all Microsoft Office packages
• Strong command of English and local languages
