Job Description
Head Mechanic Reports to the Technical Officer
Duties and Responsibilities
Overall responsibility
> To repair all Council Equipment / Plant & vehicles in satisfactory operational condition.
Duties
> To keep an updated record of all councils vehicles, equipment and tools.
> To keep an up to date vehicle logbook for all journeys made, fuel and oil consumed.
> To order and issue out fuels oils.
> To ensure good stock control management of all parts tools, equipment and vehicle in the section. > To cost all mechanical section's annual requirements.
> To prepare monthly work plans for the sections.
Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS
> The person should be a journeyman in automotive engineering (Artisan) - Class one and should have at least 5 years relevant experience.
> Age range should be 27 to 50 years
