Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen
operations. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in the restaurant industry
in Zimbabwe, with strong expertise in preparing traditional Zimbabwean cuisine as well as
Western dishes. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high food
quality standards, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations in a fast-
paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
 Plan and prepare high-quality meals, specialising in traditional Zimbabwean dishes
(such as sadza, oxtail, road runner chicken, and traditional stews) and a variety of
Western meals.
 Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high performance and
teamwork.
 Develop menus and introduce new dishes while maintaining consistency and quality.
 Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and hygiene standards.
 Manage stock control, food costs, and kitchen supplies.
 Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
 Work well under pressure and ensure timely food preparation during busy service
periods.
 Monitor food presentation to maintain restaurant standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:
 Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef (minimum [5–10] years
recommended).
 Relevant culinary qualification or professional cooking certification is an added
advantage.
 Strong knowledge of traditional Zimbabwean cuisine and Western cuisine.
 Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
 Ability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays.
 Excellent organisational and communication skills.
 Ability to work under pressure in a busy restaurant environment.
