Job Description

Applications are invited from highly competent and qualified persons to fill the following positions that have arisen within the organisation.

POST A: HEAD AUDIT AND INSPECTORATE
RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement audit, Security and Inspectorate strategies that align with the overall Zimpost strategies.
• Plan and oversee audits (including special audits) and ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and regulations.
• Review and appraise internal systems, processes, policies and procedures and make recommendations that ensures that operations and internal controls are improved and resources are efficiently utilized.
• Planning and implementing programme of scheduled and random inspections at various offices to confirm compliance with prescribed policies and procedures.
• Carry out risk assessments on key Company activities with recommendations to manage risk and improve business performance.
• Conducting research on audit, inspectorate and security techniques to keep abreast with global developments/trends for implementation.
• Maintain a comprehensive system for recording all audit plans, work papers, findings, reports, and follow-up audits.
• Safeguarding Zimpost assets through effective security and risk management.
• Identify and investigate suspected fraud cases. Manage the end to end investigation process including reporting of cases to the ZRP and attending to court cases.
• Providing advisory service on security, audit and inspectorate with a view to safeguard assets and revenue of the company.
• Conduct follow ups on audit recommendations made for each audit and monitor timely implementation of management’s corrective actions.
• Ensure weekly and monthly quality of service assessments which include monthly international mail movement age analysis and monthly statistics on international mail violations are conducted and reports produced.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of a Degree in Auditing, Accounting or equivalent.
• A Masters’ Degree.
• Membership with a recognized audit body is a must (PAAB/IIAZ).
• Relevant Professional Qualification such as ACCA, OM, CA, ICSA/ – MBA or equivalent is an added advantage.
