The purpose of the job is to implement a sustainable harvesting operation, guided by the Annual Plan of Operation and aligning to Forestry standards.
1. Preparing and monitoring of annual harvesting/silviculture and roads annual plan of operations;
2. Contributing to the development of Standard Operating Practice (SOP) guidelines in line with international best practice;
3. Preparation of scheduled/ periodic and ad hoc reports;
4. Developing subordinates and sustaining effective implementation of SOPs,
5. Achieving set fire protection, environmental management, safety, and quality targets.
• Diploma in Forestry or related field.
• Degree in Forestry would be an added advantage.
• 2 years’ forest management experience in a similar role.
Skills and Knowledge
• A team player and self-motivated – able to identify and rectify skills gaps and recommending interventions.
• Excellent presentation skills – Powerpoint
• Very analytical and comfortable with MS Excel spreadsheets
