Job Description

The organization is seeking to employ a person who will work primarily in any of the operating states of WAICA RE as the GROUP HEAD OF HUMAN RESOURCES (GHHR)/ CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER of WAICA REINSURANCE Corporation PLC.

The Group Head of Human Resources will retain overall responsibility for the group human resources strategy and the implementation of that strategy.
In addition, all regional offices will report to the Group Head of Human Resources in relation to all staff-related matters.

Duties and Responsibilities

General Human Resources Management
a) Demonstrate deep understanding of the key business purpose, business drivers and how people influence these areas.
b) Actively and proactively working to provide people support to build a strong team to be able to support the businesses.
c) Strategically driving workforce analytics and data to understand the changes and driving these to support the changes.
d) Develop Group Human Resource policies in line with business plans.
e) Strategically overseeing hiring, training, HR,professional development, performance management and other people-centered activities to ensure they are optimized for the best performance of people and in the best interest of the bottom line.
f) Ensure our hiring, on boarding and management procedures are effective for diverse groups.
g) Ensuring everyone has the resources they need to perform at the highest level possible.
h) Manage the human resources function as well as staff working within the function.
Organization Development, Talent Management and People Development
a) To develop a vision and mission for the Group's learning and organizational effectiveness principles and programs.
b) Develop talent acquisition strategies and formulate career development plans for all employees to build strong pipelines for future staffing requirements.
c) To evolve our leadership and employee potential models and frameworks to ensure that the Group can support the needs for current and future leader at all levels.
d) To enhance soft-skills training and development portfolio,leveraging internal and external content and resources.
e) To identify opportunities to enhance talent review and succession processes.
f) To implement coaching and mentorship programs.
g) To serve as the internal consultant for designing and driving talent transformation and change,this includes providing insight, education and perspectiveto discussions and decisions relating to talent, organizational change management and people development.
Performance and Rewards Management
a) To ensure that pay structures and benefits plans are competitive and that they are designed and managed to attract and retain a quality workforce.
b) To define a fair, equitable and competitive total compensation and benefits package that fits and is aligned to our company's strategy and business goals.
c) To use various methods and techniques and make data-based decisions on direct financial, indirect financial and no financial compensation.
d) To participate in salary and labor market surveys to determine prevailing pay rates and benefits.
Continuously be in touch with Human Resource trends and market changes
a) To deploy effective communication strategies and success metrics.
b) Ensuring full compliance to any regulatory requirements as such changes are built and implemented in the policies, processes and practices.
c) To be an active proponent of employee engagement programs and a champion on the Group's values

Qualifications and Experience

At least a first degree in related subject and achieved at least an Associateship of a well-established and recognized Human Resources Professional Body or Institution.
Work Experience:
At least 10 years post qualification experience with at least 7 years in Executive Management role.
Language Skills
Applicant should have an excellent command of English Language and French. A working knowledge of Arabic will be an added advantage but not absolutely essential.
Business Skills
a) Possess high level of business acumen and excellent stakeholder management.
b) Strong ability to build strong professional working relationship across all boundaries and level.
c) Strategic thinking skills to work with the GMD/GCOO as well as with the Executive Management.
d) The conceptual skills to shape the organization to meet tomorrows' talent challenges and prospects.
e) Possess strong financial acumen to broadly optimize resources and understand the financial implications and trade-offs of investments in every aspect of the business, including talent.
