Job Description

GROUP COMPLIANCE MANAGER
The following vacancy has arisen within Group Legal and Compliance Department, applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the vacancy. The role is responsible for progressing the implementation of the Groups' Complianc Framework and Policy, and ensuring that SBUs are compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
The Job
Reporting to the Deputy Company Secretary, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Duties and Responsibilities

Conducting risk assessments by identifying and agreeing risks and ranking them by likelihood and impact
• Advising management on standard practices that governs business operations e.g. capital adequacy, solvency, liquidity
• Providing compliance advisory services to management, business, and functional units in relation to regulatory frameworks
• Ensuring that the AML systems and controls meet and comply with regulatory requirements
• Conducting compliance reviews, perform compliance monitoring and surveillance to ensure that policies, procedures, and practices are being followed and adhered to
• Constructing, reviewing, and maintaining compliance policies, procedures, and processes to ensure that the systems and controls framework is adequate and up to date
• Drafting and reviewing policies, developing controls, and developing frameworks to manage compliance risk
• Undertaking regular compliance training or awareness initiatives, and playing an integral advisory role, ensuring relevance in providing guidance to management, employees and business executives on specific regulatory compliance related issues
• Formulating tax planning strategies for the Group to minimise tax liability and communicate tax risks and mitigation measures to Group Companies
• Compiling and submitting quarterly compliance reports to subsidiary companies and the Audit Committees of Board, detailing issues of non-compliance and mitigation measures to minimise exposure
• Ensuring regulatory compliance including compliance with Data Protection laws

Qualifications and Experience

The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
• Bachelor's Degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Management or Fiscal Studies.
• Certificate in Compliance Management or Certified Data Protection Officer, an added advantage
• At least 3 years' experience in a similar position
• Comprehensive understanding of the regulatory rules applicable
• Good understanding of global regulatory issues and developments
