Strategic Information and Evaluation Graduate Trainee

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Review submitted data to identify to ascertain its quality (completeness, timeliness, consistency, reliability etc)
Compare the submitted data with other data sources that carry the same or related data to ensure data are aligned
Develop electronic templates for data entry to track activities as they happen
Analyse relevant and appropriate data to improve the effectiveness of the SIE system for monitoring the strengths, weaknesses and gaps in existing programs and services as well as for reporting
Assist the SIE and programs departments in developing tools for tracking the fidelity of implementation of activities and adherence to timelines, providing regular updates for decision making and action by relevant managers.
Review the information submitted from programs and SIE through various platforms (DHIS2, MS Forms, Google sheets, Google Forms etc) and provide regular updates to decision makers through compilation of custom dashboards.
Assist with the alignment of OPHID DHIS2 and DATIM data elements, indicators and dashboards to facilitate data exchange between the two systems
Provide any other data analysis support as may be required from time to time

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics or related with heavy quantitative and software modules
Strong technical skills, including ability to process and analyse data using one or more statistical software packages such as SPSS, R, Epi-Info, Stata or SAS.

Software Skills Required

Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Access databases
Demonstrated knowledge of online databases such as DHIS2 would be an added advantage
Demonstrated knowledge of health informatics and using statistical packages that include SAS, SPSS, STATA and Epi-Info;
Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Access, with a working knowledge of other Microsoft Office packages (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Knowledge of MS Forms, Googlesheets and Google Forms.
