Job Description

Applications are invited from the suitably qualified and experienced personnel to fill in the vacancies that have arisen within the Commission.

Job Title: Graduate trainee - Restrictive Practices X2
Division: Restrictive Practices
Reporting to: Senior Investigator

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Duties/ Responsibilities
• Identify violations, investigate, assess and monitor restrictive practices and unfair business practices in Zimbabwe.
• Carry out investigations relating to abuse of dominance.
• Compile and submit investigation reports to the Senior Investigator.
Ensure compliance by enforcing the Competition Act provisions pertaining to the prevention of restrictive and unfair business practices.
• Conduct market screening studies aimed at enhancing the understanding of the Commission as regards the market structure and conduct of market players in any given industry.
• Undertake advocacy and outreach programs in Zimbabwe with the view to enhance competition culture.
• Assist with the development and drafting of Guidelines relating to restrictive practices and investigative procedures.
• Assist in the development of Divisional strategic documents to feed into the Commission's Strategic Plan.
• Assist other Divisions as and when requested from time to time.
• Undertake any other related tasks that may be assigned by the supervisor.
• A recent graduate from a recognized University and who is not more than 27 years old

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Skills
• A minimum of 5 O'levels including Mathematics and English
• A bachelor's degree in economics or law
• Strong research, analytical, and excellent writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with data analysis tools is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic policy and regulatory environment
