Job Title: Graduate Intern-Agribusiness

Purpose of Position
The Agribusiness Graduate Intern will assist in supporting the day-to-day management and coordination of the Nhedziwa Farmers Market to ensure its sustainability, profitability, and long-term viability as a community business and aggregation hub.
Major responsibilities
• Assist in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Nhedziwa Farmers Market, ensuring smooth coordination of activities, adherence to project timelines, and effective utilization of resources.
• Assist in delivering project resources to intended beneficiaries according to WV guidelines.
• Assist in facilitating strong linkages between farmers, buyers, input suppliers, and other stakeholders, while representing the market in relevant forums.
• Assist in conducting trainings, mentorship, and awareness sessions to build farmers' and committee's knowledge in agribusiness, financial literacy, and sustainable farming practices, while promoting transparency and accountability in all activities.
• Assist in developing annual work plans and budgets, monitor expenditures, and support efficient implementation of approved activities within set financial and operational guidelines as well as Detailed implementation Plans
• Assist in monitoring data entry, documentation and filing reports.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills required
• A recent university graduate in any one of the following disciplines: BSc in Agribusiness Management, BSc in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, BSc in Agribusiness and Food Industry Management, BSc in Agribusiness and Supply Chain Management or other appropriate fields.
• Knowledge of community development work/ Agribusiness/ Sustainable Agriculture models.
• Computer literacy in Outlook, Word and Excel packages is desirable.
• Project management skills: activities planning and reporting.
• At least one-year internship in Agribusiness and Sustainable Agriculture works.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and willing to learn and be led by Supervisors.
• A team player with good interpersonal skills
• Ability to speak English and local language of posted area
• Willingness to stay most of the working times in the posted rural/remote area.
