Job Description
We are looking for a young and recent graduate in the field of farming (Crops and Animal Husbandry). Working with the owner on a small holding plot
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure work area and equipment are in safe and reliable working order.
Growing and production of stockfeed (maize, soyabeans, sunflower).
Production of stockfeed and securing markets
Assist Farm Staff in regular care and rotation of farm animals including cattle, sheep, goats, horses and poultry around farm and paddocks.
Farm produce marketing.
Assist farm staff in garden work including planting, weeding, mulching, and harvesting.
Assist staff in light construction, plumbing, and miscellaneous repairs as needed.
Role model teamwork and great guest service while interacting with the public in a friendly and engaging manner.
Learn to operate tractors efficiently, including delivering of hay and hayrides.
Daily farm chores including feeding and watering all animals, watering the greenhouse.
Greenhouse work including soil prep, planting, thinning and watering.
Assist with other farm work, demonstrations and public education as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
Relevant Qualification preferred.
