Job Description
The purpose of the job is to plan ahead so that all detonations can occur in accordance with expectation. Apart from offering a safe, efficient and effective service to the customer, responsible for ensuring that all legal, statutory, and SHEQ standards and prescriptions are met in the process of people performing the tasks expected of them. Responsible for supervising the performance of Drilling and Blasting activities by allocating work, giving instructions and ensuring that the work has been performed in line with standards and prescriptions.

Block preparation
Detonation preparation and execution
Drawing accessories
Detonation preparation
Post-detonation duties
Staff supervision
Any other duties as assigned by the Mine Manager
Qualifications and Experience
5 "0" Levels including English language
Holder of a Blasting Licence
A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Blaster with demonstrated leadership competencies
Class 4 Drivers Licence an added advantage
Numerical fluency
Assertiveness
