Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above post, which has arisen in our organization.
Carrying out maintenance and repair work on vehicles/units including condition-based maintenance.
Reacting timeously and cost effectively to breakdowns without compromising quality.
Planning and carrying out major overhauls of all mechanical units.
Carrying out failure analysis- 5WHY root cause analysis for all failed components/units or breakdowns.
Conducting all vehicle pre and post trip checks and ensure Job cards are raised and completed to the effect of work carried out.
Compiling documentation of vehicles/units repaired.
Preparing requisitions and seeks necessary approval for required parts and components.
Maintaining a properly clean, safe and environmentally friendly workplace.
Any other duties as assigned.
The ideal applicant should possess the following minimum qualifications and attributes:
Apprentice trained motor mechanic or trade tested Class 1 journeyman with at 1 year post-apprentice experience.
Be in possession of a clean class (two) driver’s license.
Be in possession of 5 “O” levels, including English, Maths and Science at Grade C or better.
Be a good team player and have the ability to manage diversity.
Be self-motivated and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
