Job Description
We seek to engage the services of a General Manager in our Fasteners Division. The incumbent is expected to steer the company’s business development and corporate strategy towards achieving its set objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Establishing and updating corporate goals and objectives, business philosophy, company business plans and long-range business development in consultation with the Group MD.
Ensuring the growth and protection of the company’s market share and ensure that profitability is maintained and increased in line with business plans.
Overseeing all the operations of the company, including setting targets for heads of departments and ensure that these are achieved.
Ensuring that a high level of stakeholder service and engagement is developed and maintained with clients, suppliers, the public and other government stakeholders.
Keeping abreast of market trends to ensure competitive products and service are offered by the company.
High level attention to detail, and comprehensive reporting and management abilities to implement, monitor and manage operations.
Ensuring that budgets are developed to support business plans and ensuring careful monitoring of the budgets.
Ensuring control and proper asset utilization, including timeous servicing and maintenance.
Ensuring adherence to systems and controls by all subordinate staff and departments
Qualifications and Experience
A relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or any related field.
A relevant Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
At least 10 years’ experience 5 of which must be in a senior managerial position, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Marketing experience is an added advantage.
Be a strong leader with good interpersonal skills.
A self-motivated, proven performer with strong management track record.
