Job Description
General Manager will be responsible for improving efficiency and increasing departmental profits while managing the company's overall operations, oversee several elements in a business, including hiring staff, operating budgets, and launching price promotions that could attract more customers
Duties and Responsibilities
• Spearhead the implementation of YAFM’s growth and marketing strategy for the BID 2025 vision towards the attainment of a USD200000 annual profit performance as defined in terms of audiences, new markets and sales.
• Ensure YAFM diversifies its revenue streams into an entertainment and services entity that goes beyond radio, earning its revenues from the three focus areas with a diverse client base.
• Provide leadership to all strategic business units, overseeing the management of cost and revenue drivers to ensure attainment of targets and profitability.
• Ensure that operational, financial and human resources management systems and procedures are put in place and adhered to for accountability, professionalism, excellence and high levels of productivity.
• Build YAFM into a business that is compliant with various statutory obligations, in terms of licence conditions, promises to stakeholders and tax obligations
• Lead YAFM’s into fully integrating its business and programming systems to the digital world and its various opportunities and possibilities
• Develop and implement a performance management system that ensure that YAFM staff are accountable to set targets and results.
• Provide the YAFM Chairman with weekly, monthly , quarterly and annual company operational reports and management accounts of YAFM
• Report to the YAFM board through the Chairperson and sit on its various sub committees
• Manage stakeholder relations and visibility of the organization to ensure a good reputational image and reduce risk.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Strategic Management or equivalent
At least 5 years experience in a similar position
