The incumbent shall provide visionary and strategic leadership to the organisation to ensure maximum contribution to the national and sub-regional economies through the provision of a safe, reliable and cost effective bulk freight and passenger services, whilst ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations and corporate governance framework.

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To act as the accounting officer of the entire NRZ operations for the Government of Zimbabwe.
ii. To give visionary and strategic direction in the NRZ's turnaround programme while positioning it on the cutting edge of the rail transport industry in the region.
iii. To ensure compliance with the Railways Act (Chapter 13:09); Public Finance
Management Act (Chapter 22:19); Public Entities Corporate Governance Act (Chapter 10:31); other applicable governing instruments and best practices through the efficient management of the organization's capital, human, material and financial resources.
iv. To develop and implement strategic and business plans for the organization in a cost effective and time efficient manner.
v. To manage stakeholder relations and ensure inclusivity in planning and implementation.
vi. To develop and implement prudent management techniques in line with world best practices.
vii. To set performance benchmarks for Executive Management team members in line with relevant performance standards and ensure compliance to same.
viii. To co-ordinate, control and evaluate the organization's capital development programmes.
ix. To manage the day to day operations of the organization.
4. OUALIFICATIONS
Possess an appropriate University degree in Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Transport Management or equivalent acceptable to the Board ofDirectors.
Possession of an MBA/MBL/MPA/MSc in Strategic Planning or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Full member ofa recognized professional body.
5. EXPERIENCE
10 years relevant working experience with at least five (5) years at Senior Management Level.
REMUNERATION AND EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
Competitive executive remuneration packages commensurate with each of the above positions will be disclosed to the successful candidates.
The successful candidates shall be on five (5) year renewable performance based contracts which will be appraised annually.
