The Role:
The Foreman will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and lead a team of skilled workers to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to Sandvik's high standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of a team of technicians, mechanics, or production staff.
Plan and organize daily work schedules, allocate tasks, and monitor progress.
Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment, tools, and work areas.
Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to team members.
Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and team performance.
Communicate effectively with management, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
Assist in budgeting and resource allocation for projects.
Qualifications and Experience
Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in a supervisory or leadership role within a relevant industry (e.g., manufacturing, mining, construction).
Strong technical knowledge and practical experience related to Sandvik products or operations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team.
Solid understanding of safety protocols and best practices.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications.
Basic computer literacy (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Relevant trade qualification or technical certification is highly desirable.
A valid driver's license may be required depending on the role.
