Food Processing/Value Addition Consultancy

The project ‘Promoting climate protection through smallholder resilience’ by Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V. (Help) is an intervention focused on building the climate resilience of 3,000 households in Bulilima rural district. The activity is funded by the German Postcode Lottery. The objective of the project is to combat the effects of climate change for resource constrained households in Zimbabwe.
Consultancy Role:
Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V is looking for a Service Provider under this engagement to come up with a catalogue of food processing methods/ recipe book, provide training on nutrition and food.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications:
• The consultant must have hands-on experience in food processing particularly underutilised species under donor funded programs (Must provide evidence to this effect).
• Must provide proof of having developed product catalogues/recipe books before for donor funded projects in the Zimbabwean context (These must have references).
• Have thorough understanding of nutrition best practices.
• The Lead Consultant Should Possess
• A first degree or higher in Nutrition Sciences or Food Sciences.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressively working in the nutrition sector including working with rural communities on food processing in NGO settings.
• Excellent presentation and writing skills in English.
• Excellent organising, facilitating, presentation and communication skills.
• Excellent English report writing skills.
