Job Description
We are looking for experienced Fitter and Turner (Grade C4) to join our Engineering Team.
This position reports to the Mechanical Engineer.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform daily and routine maintenance tasks on hoists, conveyors, pumps, compressors, among other key mining equipment as instructed or specified on work orders.
• Attend to breakdowns within your area of responsibility and complete work within specified timeframes to minimize downtime.
• Competently disassemble and assemble mechanical components and machinery using technical manuals and written procedures.
• Machine and repair mechanical parts using lathes, milling machines, and other workshop equipment.
• Complete work order documentation after every task performed and submit it to the supervisor on the same day.
• Ensure and enforce all housekeeping and SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) standards within work areas at all times.
Qualifications and Experience
• 5 O'Level passes including Mathematics, English and Science
• Class One Journeyman certificate in Fitting & Turning
Experience
• A minimum of 2 years' professional work experience.
Skills
• Knowledge and hands-on experience in hoist, pumps, conveyor among other underground equipment maintenance.
• Proficiency in using lathes, milling machines, and other workshop equipment for manufacturing and repairing parts.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 45001 and 15001
