Job Summary

Reporting to Assistant Director Finance, the purpose of the job is Preparation and Analysis of Financial Statements and Reports

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Performance Areas

Producing Council’s year-end financial statements.
Attend to external and internal audit queries.
Participate in the formulation of the Council’s general financial policies.
Prepare monthly income & expenditure reports.
Produce monthly creditors’ and debtors’ aged analysis reports.
Ensure that internal controls in place are being adhered to and be able to identify areas of weakness.
Oversee all payments to the Council’s various service providers and suppliers.
Participate in the Council’s various committee meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

5 Ordinary levels including English Language plus 2 Advanced levels passes
HND in Accountancy/degree in Accounting, C.I.S, A.C.C.A, C.I.M.A, SAAA or equivalent qualifications.
Master degree in a relevant field an added advantage
Have at least five years working experience at managerial level.
Be computer literate with good knowledge of Sun System

Required Competencies and Attributes

Highly Computer literate
Good communication skills.
Must be able to work with figures
