Duties and Responsibilities
The role – What we expect from you:
• Prepare annual reports for external stakeholders and regulatory authorities. • Prepare half year and year-end financial packs for Group consolidation. • Research on new accounting standards or changes to the existing standards and advise management timely. • Take the lead in preparing Bank monthly management accounts. • Write commentary reports on profitability and performance including key indicators for the consolidated Bank position. • Review intercompany reconciliations and sign off with all subsidiaries. • Review and analyze daily exception reports. • Investigate and report on significant transactions and provide commentary to management. • Review Trial Balance movements and account for such accurately and completely. • Check and review the Group Settlement Transactions Report for balancing and addressing imbalances. • Maintain an accurate and updated documentation of Accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications, Skills & Experience required:
• Possess a relevant degree in Accounting or similar from a recognized tertiary institution. • Should have a full professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CIS, CA (Z) or similar. • Have at least four years’ relevant working experience preferably acquired in a financial services or related environment. • Have thorough knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). • Should possess the ability to prepare accurate and factual financial reports. • Should be able to relate at all levels and across functions. • Willing to work under pressure and within strict deadlines.
