Finance Officer: ZiCHIRe

The Finance Officer will report to the Programs Director.
Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure project monitoring and cost controls are in place and functional; Oversee operations of the finance department, objectives and design framework for these to be met; Reporting to management and stakeholders and providing financial advice and insights on how the organization and future programming decisions might be impacted; Producing financial reports related to grant budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses; Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports; Compile and analyze financial data in order to help the organization make sound financial management decisions during program implementation and in running the organization; Analyze project costs, pricing and the organization’s actual performance compared to approved work plans; Work with programs team to implement a project schedule and ensure that they meet the set milestones throughout the project lifecycle; Help programs team to complete projects and activities according to approved budgets and work plans; Make sure payroll transactions are correctly recorded according to the agreed project budget and supported with timesheets; Perform all other duties as assigned or requested by the Programs Director, Board or funding partners
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting or in relevant field; At least 5 years working experience in finance and accounting management particularly in budgeting with international NGOs is desirable; Experience in implementing and monitoring the compliance of finance and accounting system, policies and procedures preferably the context of an NGO; Good knowledge of fund accounting including reporting the requirements and compliances of major Bilateral Aid Agencies – EU,UNFPA,USAID, The Global Fund; Bold personality, strong interpersonal and presentation skills
