Job Description

Applications are invited to fill in the following vacant position that has arisen in our Life
Reporting to the Management Accountant, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Duties and Responsibilities

• Updating internal systems with financial data
• Reconciling bank statements
• Keeping accurate records of daily transactions
• Assisting with budget preparations
• Preparing monthly performance commentary for assigned divisions
• Preparing monthly management accounts for assigned divisions
• Participating in audits
• Reviewing and implementing financial policies and procedures
• Ascertaining a reporting premium income receipts in liaison with business units
• Carrying out variance analysis a reporting on business unit premiums including but not limited to premium income, reassurance and claims for input into monthly management accounting
• Reporting on key cost drivers, budget variances and management costs analysis
• Participating in projects relating to business & finance functions

Qualifications and Experience

Key qualifications, experience & competencies
• Degree in Accounting / Finance or any related qualification
• Progress towards the attainment of a professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA. CIS) is an added advantage
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Traceable two-year experience
• Analytical mind with a clear & demonstrable bias towards numbers
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to exercise maturity and work autonomously with minimum supervision
