JOB POSITION: Finance Manager
LOCATION: Harare
REPORTS TO: Finance Director
Duties and Responsibilities
MAIN DUTIES
* Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements and quarterly board reports in compliance with IFRS and IAS standards.
* Develop financial budgets, track actuals versus budget monthly, and present comprehensive variance analyses on revenues and expenses.
* Direct cash flow management, working capital prioritisation, and investment monitoring.
* Enforce financial policies, departmental procedures, ISO quality standards, and statutory/regulatory compliance.
* Oversee agency network finances, reinsurance treaty returns, and credit control policy implementation.
* Manage internal and external audit processes, implementing audit recommendations promptly.
* Supervise, assign duties to, and conduct performance reviews for Accountants and Assistant Accountants.
* Manage procurement processes, maintain approved supplier databases, and liaise with key external stakeholders, regulators, and banks.
Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent; Articled Clerk background required.
* Professional accounting qualification/membership (ACCA, CPA, CA, or tax/investment certifications).
* MBA is an added advantage.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior accounting, audit, or finance role (short-term insurance or financial services background preferred).
* Advanced proficiency in MS Office (especially Microsoft Excel), financial databases, and commercial accounting software packages.
* Proven expertise in financial reporting, business communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and managing tight deadlines under pressure.
