Position Summary

The Finance Intern will provide support to the finance department. The intern will assist in day-to-day financial operations, reporting, and record-keeping while developing professional skills under the supervision of the finance team.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and processing of payments, receipts, and financial transactions.
• Support the recording and reconciliation of expenditures, bank statements, and petty cash.
• Help maintain proper financial documentation and filing systems (both physical and electronic).
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing requested documents.
• Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and donor requirements.
• Contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Perform any other finance-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or a related field.
• At least two (2) years of attachment/internship experience in accounting, auditing, or finance.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications; exposure to accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Pastel) is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a team.
• High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality in handling financial information.
