Position: Finance Intern

Join one of Africa's leading creative & digital media organisations! We are looking for a passionate and
driven Finance Intern to support our Finance Department. The Finance Intern will provide hands-on
experience in financial administration, bookkeeping, and compliance processes. The intern will work
under the direct supervision of the Finance Associate and gain valuable insight into financial operations
within a dynamic NGO environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Job Description
• Maintain the financial filing system and file financial documents as required.
• Process payments in accordance with organizational policies.
• Post financial data into Quickbooks Accounting software.
• Prepare bank and supplier reconciliations on a monthly basis.
• Track petty cash, keep appropriate records, and maintain reconciliation.
• Assist with preparations for audits and compliance visits.
• Prepare donor fund disbursement requests and acknowledgments of receipt upon receiving
funds.
• Regularly update the asset register to reflect any movement of assets.
• Implement general office administration tasks, including printing, photocopying, scanning, and
stationery procurement.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Finance Associate.
Qualifications and Experience
Education & Experience
• A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance , or a related field.
• Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with Quickbooks
accounting software is an added advantage.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
