About Friendship Bench
The Friendship Bench is an evidence-based mental health intervention developed in Zimbabwe to bridge the mental health treatment gap. We value mental well-being and strive to improve people’s quality of life through problem-solving talk therapy.

Friendship Bench is seeking a suitably qualified, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Finance Assistant.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist in maintaining accurate financial records through timely data capturing and processing transactions.
• Manage petty cash and fuel coupons, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation.
• Disburse cash and fuel to departments in line with approved requests.
• Prepare and maintain cash withdrawal vouchers.
• Prepare payment vouchers and ensure supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
• Process payments through online banking platforms and cash payments.
• Distribute proof of payments to relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date filing of all financial documents.
• Assist in retrieving documents for audits and financial reviews.
• Assist in preparation and submission of statutory returns including PAYE and NSSA.
• Process travel advances and monitor acquittals.
• Support donor reporting and grant financial schedules.
• Assist in processing EFTs and maintaining banking records.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience
1. Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping.
3. Experience in an NGO, development, healthcare, or corporate environment is desirable.
4. Knowledge of accounting procedures, online banking platforms, and statutory requirements.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

• Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures.
