Job Description

Bantwana Zimbabwe (BZ) seeks an experienced candidate for the role of Finance Assistant for a new USAID-funded initiative focused on Support TB. The project aims to strengthen community resilience and health systems to identify and support individuals with TB, ensuring they receive the necessary care and improving overall health outcomes. BZ is a leader in the development of high quality, comprehensive OVC service delivery in high HIV/TB prevalence districts in Zimbabwe. BZ brings a significant track record of excellence and innovation in improving access to and quality of integrated OVC care and support, with a particular focus on strengthening coordination and layering of care, protection, and support services across the HIV/TB continuum of response, for vulnerable children and their caregivers at community, district, provincial and national levels.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance of cash journal for the project.
• Assist with processing payments and recording them in the accounting system.
• Preparation and submission of weekly project advance reconciliation.
• Assist with maintaining asset registers for the project.
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system for all project transactions.
• Preparing monthly VAT claims reports and submitting on time.
• Assist with reconciling of fuel usage monthly and preparing the reports.
• Assisting in preparation for audits and donor spot checks.
• Prepare bank withdrawal letters.
• Banking cash receipts.
• Maintaining Petty Cash for the project.
• Assist with maintaining accurate stores records showing receipts and issues.
• Upload papers on approvewise for approvals.
• Assist with local procurement.
• Assist with ensuring the general cleanliness, security and essential services at the district.
• Assist with monthly reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly cut off procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least a Degree in Accounting or any related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in an accounting environment.
• Experience in program administrative, and financial management systems.
• Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience in any accounting systems.
