Job Description

BACKGROUND
Mwenezi Development Training Centre [MDTC] is a community-based organization operating in Mwenezi, Chiredzi and Beitbridge districts. MDTC implements diversified community development and humanitarian programmes which are funded by various funding partners. The organization has the following vacancies to implement a WFP funded programme (Food for Assets) in Masvingo and Mwenezi districts from 10 May 2021 to 31December 2021. Therefore women and men with potential to be high performers are encouraged to apply for these challenging and exciting positions.
Reporting to the Field Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
Major Responsibilities
• Responsible for effective community mobilization and sensitization for Food Assistance for Assets programme activities in the assigned wards.
• Stakeholder coordination at ward level working closely with ward-based government technical line ministries i.e. Agritex, Vet, Rural District Council, Ministry of Health and Child Care, Women Affairs, Youth etc.
• Plan for all field monitoring activities monthly before the beginning of any month and submit to the Field Supervisor.
• Guide enumerators during the registration process (where necessary) ensuring that people assisted registration has been conducted as per set standards.
• Conducting beneficiary selection and registration through the process of developing food insecurity indicators, their application, facilitating community ranking, validation of community ranking and finally registering selected people in SCOPE.
• Avail FFA beneficiary training material to ward-based government technical stakeholders i.e. attendance registers with completed names, stationery and agreed syllabus and collection of completed registers for weekly reporting.
• Monitoring and reporting of FFA project implementation, previous FFA projects sites, crop and livestock situation and markets monitoring in the assigned wards.
Effective preparation for food and cash distributions in wards of operation i.e. sensitization and availing distribution material such as correct distribution

• manifests and summaries, demarcation ropes, tarpaulins, visibility material (CP, WFP, FFA, help desk, toll-free banners), help desk books, suggestion boxes, people assisted pin numbers, primary registers and SCOPE gadgets.
• Check quantities of food delivered at an FDP against waybill(s) and correctly sign and stamp the waybill(s).
• Do caucus meeting and public address using agreed content during distributions
• Verify IDs and SCOPE cards at distribution points before redeeming cash and in-kind electronic vouchers for people assisted using Mobile Point of sale Machines (MPOs).
• Conduct monthly food/cash distribution process monitoring, child growth and post distribution monitoring analyze data and timely submit monthly reports.
• Produce daily registration updates, cash and in-kind distribution updates, help desk, suggestion box and SCOPE related issues and programme meeting minutes
• Ensuring proper record keeping (filing) relating to complimentary livelihoods activities (i.e. primary registers, attendance registers, training material, training summary reports), Non-Food Items (NFI) inventory, previous FFA projects, cash and in-kind distribution manifests, Food Distribution Reports (FDR) and child growth monitoring reports.
• Produce quality weekly markets monitoring and situational reports (Sitreps) by Wednesday and Thursday morning each week respectively and monthly monitoring reports by the last day of each month for submission to M&E Officer.
• Ensuring that the motor bike assigned to him/her is kept clean and in a sound condition while undertaking bike checks on a daily basis.
• Report incidences related to FFA to the Field Supervisor within 24 hours of their occurrence.
Do any other duties as assigned by the Field Supervisor

Qualifications and Experience

Knowledge and skills
Excellent computer skills with experience in software packages such as SPSS, Ms Word, PowerPoint, Database & Ms Excel.
• Knowledge of utilizing WFP monitoring and evaluation tools.
• Experience in working with a local NGO in project implementation of cash/food assistance.
• Experience in working with Mwenezi Development Training Centre will be an added advantage.
• Experience in organizing and managing cash/food distribution processes is essential.
• Possession of class 3 or 4 driver’s license and ability to ride a motor bike is a requirement.
Education: First degree in Agriculture, Development studies, Food Security, Project Management, Gender studies, Nutrition, Business Management, Horticulture, Computer science or any other relevant degree.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of proven experience in NGO environment working with cash/food assistance programme beneficiaries.
