Welthungerhilfe is one of the largest, privately-held, non-denominational, and politically independent German non-governmental organizations in the area of development co-operation and emergency relief. Primarily in cooperation with local partner organizations, its task is to contribute to improved income and nutrition for the poorest rural populations in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Welthungerhilfe has been implementing projects in Zimbabwe almost continuously since 1980. Currently, the organization together with its partners has projects in 5 Provinces. Sector focus is on Food and Nutrition security including WASH, and when necessary Emergency response.

The Agricultural Business Centre is one of the Welthungerhilfe projects and it is a registered Pvt (ltd.) company situated in Gokwe South. It has a mandate to bring the farming community closer to existing markets and to explore new business opportunities. Acting as a social enterprise, its core customers are the small scale farmers situated in the district. In order to resuscitate the production of chilies, the ABC is looking for an ideal candidate to work with the farmers in the production of a chili crop.

Position Summary
The Agriculture Business Centre seeks to engage a Field Officer who will be responsible for chilli production in Gokwe South.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Description
The Field Officer will be responsible for Supervising the growing/production of chillies with small scale farmers in Gokwe South; Organising the harvesting, drying and aggregating of the commodity; Organising commodity associations and giving extension advice to farmers; Liaising with management team.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications, skills and experience required.
A Diploma in Agriculture or related field; Minimum of 3 years experience as a professional; Excellent command of written and spoken English; Proficiency in the use of MS Office and modern telecommunication systems.
