Position: FIELD ASSISTANT (SUPPORT TB)

Job Purpose:
This role will provide support to the Field Officers in implementing all project activities at district level. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring the activities of community health workers and for data collection from the targeted health facilities. They will also actively participate in preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly project plans and reports including data reports and ensure timely submission of requested data to the Field Officer and MEAL Officer. S/he will work under the supervision and support of the Field Officer in the respective districts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support Field Officers in planning, implementation, coordinating and reporting all district
level project activities
• Provide support to CBVs to conduct TBCI (TB contact investigation) including follow-
up on referrals and administration of transport vouchers
• Coaching of community cadres and ensuring co-ordination among them and with facilities
• Ensure referral completion and follow up of all presumptive TB cases at local health
facilities in support of CBVs
• Capacitate community health workers to conduct adherence support within the
communities.
• Ensure that community cadres/VHWs follow SOPs on infection prevention and control for
TB and other emerging communicable lung diseases.
• Ensure linkage of patients to nutrition support services including facilitating establishment
of community treatment support groups for TB patients
• Disseminate a treatment start-up high protein nutrition pack for DR-TB patients through
CBVs and contribute to establishment of vegetable gardens for MDR-TB and DS-TB
households. This includes contributing to planning door to door support to maintain
vegetable home gardens by local AREX officer
• Contribute to planning and running of health fairs and road shows on TB to raise
awareness and demand generation for screening and treatment services
• Contribute to generation of lessons learnt and stories of most significant changes
Education, Desired Skills and Competencies
• At least a Diploma/degree in Nursing, Environmental Health or Health Promotion.
• Diploma in community nursing or qualification in project management, health services administration or similar will be an added advantage
• At least 3 years' experience working on community health linkages especially for TB and an TRe anagement. Clinical experience with public health system within MoCC is
• Motorbike riding experience is an added advantage.
